Here's another screenshot with my settings:-

Also, what are your hardware specs?

Did any previous build work for you (in showing the cutscenes properly)?

EDIT:- You could easily have a bad rip, all things considered. Try ripping the game again from your disc.

are you using the "Gallery" option to show me that the videos works? if yes , try a new game and skip until the intro video begins , if no , then it could be a bad rip D:

RE: Black Rock Shooter The Game (US)
so the ones working is from the menu, the fmv when start new games have the problem like above.atleast it show something rather than black screen.

edit:the problem above which @wolfteam state happen only when you turn on buffered rendering,if off it only see a little scaled videos.the fmv that you have to wait at menu is working fine eventhough it just the same fmv.

RE: Black Rock Shooter The Game (US)
Hi guys, I'm having some problems with the English version of this game. When I get to the part where we open the gate (after reconnecting the power supply), it after the scene, I am shown NOW LOADING but it gets stuck from that point onwards. Anyone encounter this? The game was running smoothly and without any issues until this part in the game.

Right after that scene, I am shown NOW LOADING. Then it pretty much just stays there, but the sound still plays in the background. The weird thing is, I can't take a screenshot on that part. Like PPSSPP itself hanged up, though not completely because I can still navigate the menus. Going to Emulation > Reset also does nothing. I have to choose Emulation > Stop first and reopen the game again.

Tried it with Buffered Rendering on and off, as well as Fast Memory on and off. No dice.

Could you state the precise emulator revision used (version), your hardware specifications (example in my signature)and the platform used please(windows/android/iOS)?

Also, just to confirm, this is the happening at the "Release the Golden Gate" Story Mission in Stage 1 right?

EDIT:- Confirmed. Black Rock Shooter now gets stuck at the "Release the Golden Gate" Story Mission in Stage 1 after Opening the Gate in the latest revision (0.8.1-232)

You see the Now Loading screen and that's it. I'll be doing a trace to find out the responsible revision. Thanks for your report.

EDIT2:- It seems that disabling atrac3+ sounds/music for that particular bit is a temporary solution you can try for now. To do this, just untick the Atrac3+ checkbox in the Options --> Audio section, or rename the at3plusdecoder.dll file to something else.

EDIT3:- Scratch that. The non at3+ method only works for older builds.
Newer builds still hang at the part with at3+ off.

RE: Black Rock Shooter The Game (US)
Okay.

I've managed properly lockdown the first problematic build which is v0.7.6-1219-g2513e52. (even this one hangs randomly)

ppsspp-v0.7.6-1216-gcf593da is the last one without the hanging issue at that stage. Use this build if you wish to proceed past that point in the game.

https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issues/2608

EDIT:- The above information is wrong.

The last truely unaffected build is ppsspp-v0.7.6-1140-gbe483a1

The only problem with that older build is that the at3+ BGM hadn't been fixed up yet, so it sounds horrible.

A suggestion from me would be to use that build to get past the part which hangs in all newer builds, then, switch back to a the newer build.

Another update for the hang issue.

The single responsible commit for the issue has been found.

Hopefully it can be dealt with now.

I... wow man, I was asleep so I couldn't reply to this thread but dang, you did a mighty fine job of tracking down the issue as well as the specific commit that broke it. You're good. Big Grin

You should upload your save file onto mediafire.com and share the link of it here, so that others can reproduce this problem for you and can help you fix it.

Thanks, but we'll also need the NPUH10126SYS folder as well, with the data inside it.

Then we can get down to business.

RE: Black Rock Shooter The Game (US)
@NatsuD19

This is interesting. I couldn't get the game to crash using your save file in that Extra mission.

This is what I did.

1. Loaded your savefile.

2. Loaded the Nafe's Space Trivia mission.

3. Defeated the first correct coloured enemy (the greeen one). A scene happened.

4. Manage to continue the mission. The game didn't freeze or crash for me.

Here's the continuing dialogue after you defeat the first correct enemy:-

(see picture attachments)

I'm not sure what the problem is for you. Perhaps your ISO is corrupted?

You didn't mention the revision of the emulator that you're using, or the specifications of your device (windows/android) either, so I've no clue why it could happen.

Try downloading the latest revision from the Orphis buildbot and try again:-

http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/

I'm using the latest one (1163) and it didn't crash on my system.
