RE: PPSSPP Crashing AMD Legacy Drivers Windows 7
You can help us further understand the issue by posting a log:-
1) Double click on Log.bat in the ppsspp directory. 2) PPSSPP will automatically run. 3) Load the game that causes the crash. 4) Play it until it crashes your graphics drivers. 5) Shutdown the application manually from the task manager. 6) Head to the Users\Logs directory created in the ppsspp folder, and upload the ppsspp.log file to a filehoster of your choice. Thanks in advance. EDIT:- Just noticed your using an AMD/ATI card like me. Have you disabled Catalyst A.I. (set it to off or low, not advanced) in your CCC (Catalyst Control Panel)? It's the cause of a lot of the issues AMD/ATI cards have with this emulator. Also, since you're using a legacy card (again like me, I'm using a 4670), I recommend that you stick to older drivers. The 11.11a performance drivers are still the best, imo, for the Radeon 4xxx series, in terms of performance and stability (from benchmarks and games tested). Only thing you might lose out on is better performance for some of the latest games of 2013. http://downloads.guru3d.com/AMD-Catalyst...-2814.html PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |

RE: PPSSPP Crashing AMD Legacy Drivers Windows 7
yeah i did disable the Catalyst A.I in all the drivers ive tested, im just downloading and installing them 11.11a performance drivers to see if it effects the issue, if not ill post a log on them drivers to be sure thanks for your reply solarmystic ill be sure to let u know the results.
do you suggest a certain build of ppsspp or just use latest SVN? |

I don't know how it is for the latest drivers on the netbook you're using, but in the older drivers it was an option in the Advanced Graphics Settings portion. RE: PPSSPP Crashing AMD Legacy Drivers Windows 7
Did you have a newer card in that system before installing the "Legacy" card.
If so, there are files left behind from the amd uninstaller that causes opengl to crash against a null ptr in the aticfx32.dll/aticfx64.dll's These are NOT present in Legacy releases, and are not removed by the catalyst uninstaller, so causes issues preventing opengl from being enumerated properly. http://scalibq.wordpress.com/2012/03/03/...th-opengl/ |

Don't use an AMD Legacy Driver if you have a modern card. Also, don't forget to disable Catalyst A.I. in the Catalyst Control Panel.
