Checked it with v0.7.6-395, and it's much better now!
Text shows up properly! (except for the settings screen. the settings screen is still the same. see last thumbnail from previous post)
All that's missing is the title screen video and music!

Checked just now with v0.7.6-1475-gbfb9b2f and the music, sounds and title screen video all work.
There's a bug with buffered rendering on, where everything has over-saturated colors or there is something wrong with the gamma/brightness.

Causes an FC with current version 0.9.6-190. Buffered rendering on or off. Default settings.
Last seen working on 0.9.6-172.

EDIT:
My mistake. I installed previous versions up to version 0.9.6 release and it still didn't work. Turns out that the save file itself was corrupted for some reason - delete PSP/SaveData/ULJS00441*, tho I hope you have a backup as doing so will trash your progress.
