Hi everyone, as a big fan of Ridge Racer Series ,

I offer you my work (Texture pack) for the PAL & JAP versions of Ridge Racer 2 on PSP
There's still a lot to do:

the pngs concern the cars of the competitors in the race
notably some language translation png
and lots of small textures in the reflections of the mirror.

as you know it's a very long job I've been working on it for almost a year and a half.

It is prohibited to sell these packs because they are made for fans by fans.

if you are good photoshopers and you have creations to offer...

Unzip the UCES00422 or ULJS00080 folder in the TEXTURES folder of the PPSSPP emulator
and Enable texture replacement in the emulator
(see in settings and Developer options)

je vous propose mon travail ( Texture pack ) pour les version PAL & JAP de Ridge Racer 2 sur PSP

Il reste pas mal de chose a faire :

les png concernnt les voitures des concurrents sur la course
notament quelque png de traduction de langue
et plein de petites texture dans le reflets du retriviseur.

comme vous le savez c'est un tres long travail je bosse dessus depuis presque 1 ans et demi.

Il est interdit de vendre ces packs car ils sont fait pour des fans par des fans.

Oops this got a bit long so consider it a "review" for whoever comes across this texture pack but I got mixed feelings, feels more like a mod rather than a faithful/vanilla replacement.

First of all, genuinelly really impressive work. It fixes one of my biggest gripes with replaying the game which is the low res of cars during races. The lighting of some tracks tracks looks very different because it uses RR5 textures I think?
Some textures are still missing, like dials for Class 1 Kamata or any Danver, and a lot of cpu cars. The gradient colors for cars is good on paper but aren't properly implemented because bumpers are misaligned, also I saw some coloring errors on a couple cars (C3 Androgenesis Raggio color 21).

That said I have many gripes with this pack because some texture changes are certainly... a choice. The most obvious is the HUD color scheme change, that's alright I guess. Another is replacing many of the in-universe sponsors for random pictures or real-life brands or some completely different AI generated images instead of upscaling the originals. Also some nitpicks like for instance Baraduke being plain Arial font and losing the seriff among other logo changes.

Worst of all is almost all cars have "Cody's mod" as a watermark on the most blatantly visible spot possible. Also for some reason Kamata Fiera have country flags? And some of those have the communist hammer and sickle????
