RetroPie PPSSPP failes to map D-PAD

Hello : )
My first post is with a question.
I am trying to solve an issue with PPSSPP on RetroPie.
I cant map the D-PAD at all on any kind of joystick.
They work fine in all other games except in PSP games.
The keyboard is working properly.
I tried to map 2 separate controller(1 is Dual Sense(ps5) the other one is 3rd party Nintendo compatible one with a cable) but when it waits for input such is not registerd, all other parts of the pad work fine(joystik buttons etc) only the D-Pad cant be mapped. Ideas?
