Final Fantasy II - JP/US/EU
I've seen the CWCheat thread for Final Fantasy I, so I just copied that format for this one.

RE: Final Fantasy II - JP/US/EU
So I know I'm digging this thread way the hell out of the grave, but I ran into a glitch in my playthrough which ended with me missing the Ultima Tome key word, seemingly with no way to get it again.
So, I went ahead and slapped this together as a workaround. Figured I'd share it in case anybody else has the same issue. It's for the US version of the game, but just at a glance it seems the addresses are identical in the EU and JP releases (for the most part). Give it a whirl if you wanna. Two flavors: Key Terms from the original game only, and Key Terms from the original plus PSP-exclusive/Arcane Labyrinth. _S UCET-01101 _G Final Fantasy II [US] _C0 Original Key Terms Unlocked _L 0x8139767C 0x000F0001 _L 0x00000001 0x00000001 _C0 All Key Terms Unlocked _L 0x8139767C 0x002D0001 _L 0x00000001 0x00000001 If you're the type to jump into the memory editor and manually tinker with your terms (more hands-on with CWCheat), here are the values corresponding to each term. I figure the codes above make it pretty clear, but Key Terms are stored as 8-bit values, byte-aligned starting at the address 0x0139767C. The order is irrelevant in-game, so you can just tack on values at the end and you'll be golden. Key Word IDs: 01 = Wild Rose 02 = Mythril 03 = Dreadnought 04 = Palamecia 05 = Airship 06 = Goddess's Bell 07 = Sunfire 08 = Mysidia 09 = Ultima Tome 0A = Dragoons 0B = Wyverns 0C = Cyclone 0D = Jade Passage 0E = Mask 0F = Ekmet Teloess 10 = Authority 11 = Mirror 12 = Tracking 13 = Desert 14 = Cave 15 = Dense Fog 16 = Darkness 17 = Aquifer 18 = Greed 19 = Iron Bars 1A = Tundra 1B = Oasis 1C = Soul 1D = Fire 1E = Thundercloud 1F = Woodlands 20 = Cauldron 21 = Chronicles 22 = Giants 23 = Candelabra 24 = Wizard 25 = Utopia 26 = Sorcery 27 = Mercy 28 = Miasma 29 = Wind 2A = Oblivion 2B = Hope 2C = Destruction 2D = Guardian Enjoy! RE: Final Fantasy II - JP/US/EU
Just posting here to say this:
The US version codes seem 100% nonsensical. Codes for 999 max HP are useless in a game where the max HP is 9,999, and the rest of the spell level and equipment level codes just don't work right. I used them and only a couple weapons like spears and shield on Firion were set to 11 (max is 16). That said, just putting all the max HP/MP/Stats/Spell Levels/Equipment Levels codes from the JP version under the US header worked perfectly, and the codes indicating "Leon" correspond to the 4th party member regardless of who it is. Incredibly useful in cutting out the grind because only after getting Ricard did I learn there is character-specific optional equipment in the bonus dungeons. |
