RE: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Definitely the flashlight broke between 1.4.2 - 1.5.4
I am also able to confirm the flashlight working with 1.4.2 However whether Vulkan or OpenGL the flashlight will not work in 1.5.4 On my Nvidia Shield TV, I did some testing with 1.4.2 (This is by no means a comprehensive report since I only made it to the point where the player gets the in-game phone). Lag: Flashlight on - the game lags although there are a few places where it runs perfect. Some cutscenes have the flashlight enabled causing severe lag when watching them, this is unavoidable. Flashlight off - the game runs perfect, unfortunately there are some places where it lags. Cutscenes lag a little bit here and there otherwise perfect. Emulation glitches: 1. The flashlight bringing about unwanted black lines - forums.ppsspp.org/attachment.php?aid=13159 While this could be fixed by enabling 'Disable stencil test' it causes this - forums.ppsspp.org/attachment.php?aid=12112 Disabling 'Disable stencil test' and it should look something like this - forums.ppsspp.org/attachment.php?aid=15725 2. Unable to save any photos taken with the in-game camera due to this - forums.ppsspp.org/attachment.php?aid=13770 Therefore no 'Echo Photos' - silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/Echo_Photos Like this - vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/silent/images/c/c2/Swing.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100718153604 Likely unable to work towards getting a 'UFO Ending' - silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/UFO_Ending#Silent_Hill:_Shattered_Memories 3. A mirror not displaying properly - forums.ppsspp.org/attachment.php?aid=15723 ... Conclusion: 1.4.2 is producing a bit too much lag on the Nvidia Shield TV to enjoy this game. I am unsure whether I will do further testing. In the meantime if anyone would like to contribute to the list of 'Emulation glitches', feel free to outline it like I have done or similar to. Please make note of which PPSSPP build is used and whether previous glitches are still present or not. Hopefully this will help newer builds iron out the glitches and improve compatibility, getting this game to a perfect state! |

RE: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Hey guys I start playing Silent hill origin right now. It works perfectly fine for me. But there is a problem in control. At the clear picture tv shop, to unl-ck the door you have to turn the monitor channel and press door release. But it say you have to turn your analog stick to switch channels. I'm playing with keyboard so how can I turn my analog stick? Please help me.

RE: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
So, this game has decided to stop working altogether. Although it worked perfectly fine just yesterday!
Yesterday I started playing Shattered Memories on an old version of PPSSPP (it didn't even have D3D11). After playing for a bit and realizing how many graphical glitches there were, I decided to save, download the latest version of PPSSPP, delete the old one, put the memcard where the new version wants it to be, and keep playing form there. After downloading 1.7.4 and configuring my gamepad, I disabled the Stencil test as I had read online (that made the flashlight work better), and kept playing where I left off. It worked perfectly fine for the rest of the day. No frame drops, no outstanding bugs (except doors turning black when being opened). The only change I did from the default options was disabling Stencing as said above. But today everything went wrong. It started out fine, until I took out the phone and expanded the GPS map (didn't know you could do that). I experienced a massive drop of FPS when closing the phone which seemed to resolve itself if I clicked the flashlight on and off. "No problem, I can play without that feature I guess", I thought to myself. But the framerate problems had but began. After surviving the second nightmare and going back to town, I started experiencing frame drops everywhere. Turning off the flashlight seemed to work sometimes, but not others. After trying to enter a building, the emulator crashed unceremoniously. I booted the game again, got to the same building and entered; nothing happened (except lag), so I decided to save and change backends to OpenGL and check if that would solve anything. It didn't, so I swapped back to D3D11 and loaded the save. The game crashed 30 seconds later, after suffering a horrendous bout of lag. And now the savegame is ruined. I can load the game but not the save (PPSSPP crashes wihtout prompt), no matter what I do. I've tried everything, including everything in the "Help: PPSSPP is crashing" article on the github wiki, plus changing several graphics and system options (including backends), to no avail. That is all. Sorry for the wall of text. Does anybody know how to solve this issue? Is it common? I'd be happy to provide a bug report or anything, but I want to make sure there's not some obvious solution I'm not aware of. Thanks in advance. |

Really want to play this game, but all graphics backends are broken in some way. Settings besides that and Disable Stencil Test seem to have no effect on the graphical errors. I got Silent Hill: Origins to run just fine (though, looking back, I think its shadows were absent). D3D9: Flashlight borked, no shadows DX11: Most compatible, shadows broken w/ Stencil Test enabled, entirely absent w/o. OpenGL: Only version with functional shadows; has a bizarre band of black squares across the lower middle fourth of the screen. Vulkan: Pretty much exactly the same as DX11; runs far worse. |

The shadows are now partially transparent, so it's better, but they're still broken into vertical lines. Doesn't seem to be a Disable Stencil Test option anymore, so I can't do anything with that. drive.google.com/file/d/1mKaSVTjm7VuamO7OXtyZ8zC8nY_WPl6V/view?usp=sharing Using DX11. x64 version doesn't seem to work despite me using a x64 computer. Is that the issue? |
