Don't know how iDevices run PPSSPP, but a Cortex A53 @1.45GHz is techinically slower than 4S. Also doesn't worth buying a device like this for PPSSPP, my J7 is Cortex A53 @1.5GHz and Mali T720MP2 too, it has a decent performance for light games, but you can find better devices. For PPSSPP gaming you should look for Snapdragon 650 or any CPU with Cortex A72/73, the stronger the better. Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636) PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro |

RE: PPSSPP Android Minimum Requirements?
If you are looking in the around $200 price range (unlocked) then the huwei honor 6x with the kirin 655/mali-830mp2 would be a much higher recomemdation if your concern is emulation.
Is it a snapdragon 600 series.... no but it is generally $50 cheaper than those phones for about 90% of the performance. It is a massive upgrade over the quadcore mediatek options you get in the same price range as well. |

Well, Kirin 655 has almost the half single threaded performance of a Snapdragon 650, at least in theory, maybe it has 90% of overall performance but what matters for emulation is the single thread. Adreno 510 also is way more powerful than Mali T830MP2, also has better drivers. RE: PPSSPP Android Minimum Requirements?
My opinion if you want 90% of gaming working it should be high end device from 2015.
Snapdragon 808 or higher. 2 or 3 gb of ram Adreno 418 the lowest you can go Based on my moto x pure that 3 gb of ram have this specs run fluently but could do better. I have a Galaxy s7 edge that runs 100% based on Vulcan API that only on Snapdragon 820 I think! |

A Dual-Core processor would be better, even you not use the multithread, would be more power to process the emulator and the system at same time, at least I think. Your device should play most games pretty well. The graphically heavy games like God of War or GTA Vice City are where it might struggle a bit. |

RE: PPSSPP Android Minimum Requirements?
MT6592 is Cortex A7-based, it's not too fast, but with new OpenGL threading should run some couple of games with no problems.

RE: PPSSPP Android Minimum Requirements?
I've used SD425 devices with PPSSPP before and the best performance you'll get is with light to medium games. Games like 2.5d platformers like Megaman PoweredUP, RPGs like FF7 Crisis Core, and medium 3d platformers like Daxter. Fighting games like Soul Calibur and Tekken 5 will work well too.
For Medievel, you can try autoframeskip and turning on "Disable slower effects" and see if that helps. |
