Update?

It says on my Android device that I can update PPSSPP. Given that the saved states are housed in the emulator, is it safe to update without worry towards the update doing something bad to the states?

Your savestates are not saved in the program, but [internal memorycard]/psp/ppsspp_state so upgrading will not erase anything.

However savestates are not guaranteed to work from one version to the next on any emulator. So best practice is to always do an in game save before you update.... though it does not seem that 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 broke any of my savestates.

Yeah, we try to keep savestates working when you upgrade upwards. They usually won't work downwards though - and it's always best to save both ways to be sure.
