RE: [Video Tutorial] How to play on coldbird.net
Hi lumune, we were talking on YouTube today (SasNolan)
I've installed Evolve, configurated it, but cant connect or host. I've tried Wipeout Pure.
I dont quite undertsnad what should I do after configurating Evolve.

P.S. Okay, I managed to get into Pure and Pulse server host but I cant check - can anyone connect or not, cause nobody playing it.

Welcome to the PPSSPP forums.
Well, first of all, playing on coldbird.net and on Evolve are two different things. If you are hosting a game on coldbird.net you won't be able to on Evolve at the same time and vice-versa. So you'll need to choose, play on coldbird.net or Evolve.
By playing on coldbird.net you don't need to install anything else, just PPSSPP emulator. However, you must have DMZ Host enabled in your Router/Hub/Switch or else you won't be able to see any players due to blocked ports.

If you cannot enable DMZ Host, then it would be best to give Evolve a try since it supports UPnP (enabled by default in almost everything nowadays), so you won't need to mess with any settings in your Router/Switch/Hub.
To play on Evolve you'll need the VPN program, once installed, create an account on their site. Then you'll need to log in the program with that username and password you've just registered on their website.
Once logged in, go to Preferences and install the Evolve Party System (just tick the checkbox), located on the Features tab:

That's all. Now you just need to create or join a Party on Evolve.
You'll be assigned an IP once you are a member of a Party, so copy this IP and paste into the PPSSPP emulator's Change PRO ad hoc server IP adress field and check the Built-in PRO Adhoc Server box if you're hosting a game, if not, leave it unchecked.
Then, your friends will need to join the same Party and paste your Evolve Party IP (because you'll be hosting the game, if they're hosting, then you'll need to copy their Evolve Party IP) into their PPSSPP emulator's Change PRO ad hoc server IP adress field.

Remember, everyone must be in the same Evolve Party or else it won't work.

RE: [Video Tutorial] How to play on coldbird.net
I dont know how, but this two things are combined into my settings.

If I switch off Evolve, I cant get into Coldbird multiplayer - Black screen and nothing happens. (Well, I dont have DMZ, and i said on youtube why)
And If I change Ad-Hoc adress to Evolves IP - Constant error while trying to enter "Ad hoc & sharing" - "Wlan switch is off".

Only when my Evovle enabled AND coldbird.net in adress - I can enter and create game.
==

If what - in order to play PCSX2 (ps2 emu) online - I made bridge between TAP vpn and Wi-Fi. I also included Evolve into Bridge connection.

EDIT1: Ok, found half of problem - i dont have Upnp and port forwarding either. Will try after manual port forwarding.

RE: [Video Tutorial] How to play on coldbird.net
I have been trying to play mh3rd online on coldbird server, im using the android version of ppsspp, i have fast mem off, i can join guild halls and see ppl just fine, i can set up quest and start it, but as soon as the game says begging quest it stays there for like 30 seconds, then it loads, and says everyone dropped form the quest, so i am stumped no idea why it does not work, plus i have my dmz set up correctly. also im using latest version from the build bot.

Teach us your secrets O great onelight. Big Grin
Jokes aside, i dream someday UPnP will be implemented so we won't need DMZ anymore to play on coldbird.net and everyone will be able to play by just running the emulator and the games, no need to mess with anything else.

I can play on coldbird.net by just running the emulator and the games. I dont know why, did quarters I living now give me good intel conncetion?
Still, coldbird.net require clients have different pubilc intel IP. my floormates share same intel IP, we cant play on coldbird.net at the same time.
EDIT: I find a programmer who willing to make a server-clients moder for PSP/PPSSPP. Not complete and she may have many free time code it.

RE: [Video Tutorial] How to play on coldbird.net
Can anyone help me? I can't find the DMZ option anywhere on my router. I'm using Aztech DSL5018EN (1T1R). I'm from the Philippines, and I think the network provider changed something in the router that's why maybe the DMZ option in not visible.

It does work but in some games (don't know if it's the case with PW) we cannot see game lobbys while there is a game ongoing.
My guess would be there were 2 players in-game, since PW is co-op, 2 players is the maximum numbers to join in a game room. That is why you couldn't see them, this happens with lots of games.
There are few games like Monster Hunter series, where players can join a room with an ongoing game, most of them block the connection after the game has started, so we don't see the room or the players because they are already in a game.

You can confirm if there are players hosting/in-game with this method: http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=16739

RE: [Video Tutorial] How to play on coldbird.net
Help! I tried playing online(Tekken, DBZ Shin Budokai) without enabling DMZ, coz I can't really see where to enable it, I even followed the video tutorial, and tried to see if I can connect to other online players via pro.coldbird.net. The problem is I can't see other players on PPSSPP. But when I check the source on pro.coldbird.net, my name and other players name appears, but on PPSSPP their names doesn't show up. Then, I tried enabling UPnP, coz others said that UPnP also works on coldbird. Still the same issues, can connect, but I can't see other players on PPSSPP, but on the source page of pro.coldbird.net my name and other players shows! Am I missing something on my settings? Help please!

First of all, always check the working online game list in this thread.
The only working game online on PPSSPP emulator of the DBZ franchise is Tenkaichi Tag Team as of now (november 2015), the Shin Budokai games do not work online, even when seeing there are a lot of players hosting or "ghosting"(not actually online) them on http://pro.coldbird.net , none of them are playing it online. It has not been fixed yet.

Now, some users report they are able to play on coldbird.net IP Address without DMZ enabled, just by enabling UPnP on their Router. Please do note this is not my case and only a few users reported they were able to do this. I still need to enable my DMZ every time i want to play online on coldbird.net or else it will be exactly as you said.
The website (http://pro.coldbird.net) will recognize you even with DMZ disabled, however, you will not be able to see any players in game due to ports being blocked/unreachable by the emulator/game.
Trying to circumvent the issue by opening ports in a wide range is futile since the emulator/games can choose ports at random. First time PPSSPP may use port 1000, the second time it may use port 50000, and so on. This is why we unfortunately need to enable DMZ to open all ports when playing on coldbird.net, it is a drastic solution and i would recommend you do not do this unless you understand the risks and know what you are doing. Use a VPN program of your preference (like EvolveHQ/Hamachi/Tunngle) to play with your friends instead if you are unable to use DMZ in your Router. These programs use UPnP to emulate a LAN environment for all players and get all ports through the emulator (as if you were using DMZ).
Good luck.
