Hey, not sure if it's really considered a useless question anymore, not sure how many strides have been made until now, but I wanted to express great interest in getting work on this. My friend and I both have the emulator working pretty darn tootin' perfectly (Holy crap awesome), and hope that we can play Dissidia against each other with this glorious setup.

Anyways, Not really asking so much as saying if it gets the attention and the breakthroughs are made, I would be a very happy person. XD Thanks for what's made so far!

Developing a communication interface is not easy let alone wireless and it depends on the console, other emulators have it but they are far from perfect and some requires a 3rd party interface for it to work i.e. Kaillera and Z-Battle.

As a major on Computer Ntworking I tried to look a lot into this kind of thing, but I have 0 experience in programming so I can't help much.
