RE: Ys SEVEN
since the running part is easy , you can solve this glitch temporary

go to VGA control panel and boost up brightness to max , the game will be brighter , enough to pass this scene ( luckily you dont have to fight that boss !!! ) just keep running to the top

after passing the scene , save your game then go to the vga cp to set brightness to normal

RE: Ys SEVEN
Is it normally a little bit of frameskipping /stuttering when outdoors compared to indoors like going inside a building / small maps

RE: Ys SEVEN
It's a bug in GPU cycle timing right now, but it's "normal" or at least known about.

Finished the game

Only problem was Lava Stage going dark and entering houses causes blackscreen sometimes (Forest Elder Hut & Final Village Shop)

RE: Ys SEVEN
The first part of Altago Plains, after the left exit of Altago city, is an example of area where the FPS can be 20 or 30 in the same screen area. There are parts where it is 20 FPS and parts where it is 30 FPS. But it always has 60 VPS.

RE: Ys SEVEN
@Squall

When it drops down to 20 is when you start seeing the frameskipping effect on the background. (internal slowdown)

Problem is rectified if you used daxtsu's experimental CPU frequency tweaker and set it double the PSP's original frequency. (666MHz)

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

RE: Ys SEVEN
Yes. When it has frame skipping effect, the FPS is 20.
The FPS may decrease to 20 and increase back to 30.

I will have to wait for a build with this hack.

PM daxtsu if you want a link. He's the inventor of the tweak and may provide you a build if you ask him nicely enough.

RE: Ys SEVEN
Version v0.8-29-gc998c5f
Tegra 3 device
1GB ram

Sound works ok, a bit of crackling, especially at lower frameskip, but higher frameskip causes graphical flashing. Videos play with sound perfectly.

-without buffered rendering
frameskip 0~ 20 in town. 30 in buildings, player visible, sound lag
frameskip 1~ same fps, Player info visible. Screen flashes
frameskip 2~ same fps, player info not visible, no flickering

Speed is fine, the issue the flickering or the not all of the information showing on screen.

RE: Ys SEVEN
Today I tested it with v0.8.1-220-g69d1487.
The problem of 20 FPS is fixed, there is no need to change the clock.

The minimap problem is fixed by enabling the option of read from framebuffer. It runs at 60 without speed issues.

Apparently it was fixed in v0.8.1-123-g0d32163 when [unknown]'s pull request (https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issues/2542) was merged into master.

I just did a quick trace back.
