RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Played this game with no noticeable issues~ game ran quite well with fewest issues. used version 1.0.1 for majority of game. testing now with 1.1.1
Edit 1: Found out some of the bgm is disorted slightly (off pitch) sound worked fine in 1.0.1.. i may upload a sound sample of both versions later. its not super noticeable but.. it is higher pitched and sounds a bit off.. |

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Has anyone discovered how to fix the crash on the second cutscene, when Claude lands on the undiscovered planet?
It happens as soon as he wonders where he is, the screen becomes distorted into an oversized pixel-y mess, and the issue effects windows too, slowing everything down and causing temporary black screens, any ideas on how to fix this? I am running the ppsspp 1.1.1 version, with default settings, on windows, with a 290x(doubt that is a factor but figured could't hurt for more info). Any help would be appreciated guys, I have no idea what to do when it comes to this. |

Don't be so sure,I've seen many bug reports here and it was always "works with nvidia and not with amd" I'm not sure what scene exactly are you talking about. If you mean the second cut scene in the game and after it you are supposed to save Rena from a monster, then no problems here, the game works fine(nVidia GTX750TI) Try switching to Direct3D9 after you start ppsspp(it will ask to restart after that) Game Settings=>Rendering Backend You can also try the latest beta and try direct3d9 there too Using PPSSPP on Windows 7 x64 SP1 i7 4771 3.5Ghz,GTX750TI,16GB RAM Batch iso <=> cso converter http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5384 Save Game\States Manager http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5516 |

That seems to have done the trick mate, thanks for the help! For anyone else that has the same issue, simply switching to Direct3D9 did the trick, so easy too haha. |

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Another option might be updating your video card drivers and trying the latest git build. Newer video card drivers often fix bugs and crashes in the drivers, and emulators tend to use features of video cards and their drivers that aren't as commonly used by modern games.

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Hello everyone. Sorry to make so many posts about this sound issue.. But the bug still lingers on this particular track (not sure about others. heres the clip
https: //clyp.it/gptyqvq3 notice sfx at 0:09-0:10 and between 1:05: -1:06. sounds pitchy and garbled. In fact listen to the difference between 0:19- 0:50 and between 1:15.. i found its this song in particular and higher pitch ones. combat sfx also sound off. like menu selection. It happend somwhere between 1.0.1 and still current git. maybe i can find exact git soon! ill edit later tomorrow. |

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
BUMP~
Finally found the cause of the sound issue. did a redundancy check The issue lies between GIT v1.1.1-109-g42c7993 and v1.1.1-119-g5ebb5d5 Im sure it was the 119 commit: Merge: 42c7993 a941c6e Merge pull request #8116 from hrydgard/reverb Implement sceSas' reverb effect, guessing that the reverb is the same as the one in PSX's SPU. 109 sounds good. 119 is off. Cannot confirm due to the sensitivity of the savestates around these builds. |

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Hmm, it might be we are getting the type of reverb this game uses wrong. Our reverb is not currently accurate, although I'd say it sounds a lot better in general for the majority of games.
Unfortunately, I don't personally have the best ears - I listened to your clip but didn't notice anything obviously wrong. Can you instead telling me to do to trigger a sound effect that sounds wrong? I can at least log the reverb info about the sound effect and see what we might be doing wrong with it. -[Unknown] |

RE: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Hello thanks for the reply unknown and vsub
One of the easiest sound effect would be the newgame/continue effect. Also the menu song. not the intro. The intro is not affected. Also the Psynard bgm when you mount is the song most i noticed. Here is my save. Here is 1.1.1 vs 1.0.1. continue sfx much easier to listen then previous clip~ https ://clyp.it/eai1xtjn Thanks everyone. |
