I get your point. That must be side effects of new frameskipping logic which seems to work perfect for 30 and 60 FPS games. In your case, your game is probably running at 20 FPS (at lower clock) and enabling frameskipping crashes GOW. Similar issues is already mentioned in other threads as well.
