If you're on an iPhone 8 Plus, you can probably set it to 3x or 4x. To check for textures, open the game, go to game settings -> Tools (on the left) -> Developer Settings -> Check Replace Textures. It's also not a bad idea to turn off BRZ upscaling in Graphics Settings (but that's not necessary). The easiest way to tell after that is to check if the textures look high quality (portraits, text, UI). If it looks like the photos on the post, it's probably working.
