Issues with Sound cracking (any release)

hello,

any game I try to play (currently Lunar) has cracking sound. It doesn't matter how fast the game is running (between 30 and 1000 FPS), the sound always cracks, although higher speeds make it worse and there are very few, but still noticeable, cracks on the standard 30 fps.

I've tried a bunch of releases and settings already and nothing has worked. I guess it's not the emulator that's at fault in the first place, but I've no more ideas what to try, so I was hoping somebody here maybe had similar issues and found a possible fix or has some general idea what I could try.
