Persona 3 Portable Save Screen Issues?

I'm running PPSSPP on Retroarch. Whenever I go to save or load on Persona 3 Portable, I'll get the background of the save screen but no save slots or any form of information. I'll get the music playing, shoot, I can even back out of the "menu". But for some reason it just doesn't show anything. I'm relatively new to emulation and especially Retroarch, and I've hardly used PPSSPP. I'd love to hear any feedback y'all have to give me. Also sorry if this is a bad place to put this, I made this account specifically to help solve this problem, thanks for the help!
