It does work fine, however changing the setting does not rebuild framebuffers so you'll not see any change in game unless you for example change window size.

Here's a x10 zoomed in comparison:

Edit: Quite frankly I don't really see why we need this option, maybe on some mobiles it has an impact, because otherwise probably everyone would just want it activated all the time, it's very cheap performance wise and the quality difference is pretty huge.
