RE: Loading "clear data" from previous/demo verisons
If a game supports something like that it detects the save from original savedata folder when you choose to use that feature in-game. You can activate ppsspp log and after trying to import previous game/demo save should see where the game seeks the save(in case you put it to wrong folder) and maybe figure out why it fails. Some games for example to unlock something are not interested in game progress saves at all and only check much smaller system data which if you downloaded save from the net might not even be there.

The only reason to ever rename saves is to try loading a save from different region which might work for some games, but will never work for many others.

Another thing to consider even if we put problematic games aside - as [Unknown] explained here saves from games hacked to run on older firmware will not work. Newer game will probably not detect or not be able to read a save from older hacked game properly, so you will need to make new save from original unmodified copy of the older game/demo to be able to use such feature.

"Respect FPU rounding" exists only for compatibility of GE(and potentially few other games) saves made on old ppsspp versions. To use it you have to disable it to load a save in the original game, then re-enable the setting and save - after which you can forget about it. If you are somewhat new to ppsspp and never played on builds before that option was added there is no reason to ever disable it as doing so will break some games and cause incompatibility with real hardware.
