I guess they work as long as you don't mind playing them in slideshow mode. Frameskip won't help much.

Some really lightweight games might be playable. But even some seemingly lightweight 2D games will not run (since many such games are not well optimized even on the PSP - but it doesn't matter since it can run them fine.)
