The links contained within the "Please Wait" pages contain content that oftentimes attempts users to click on fake messages for system updates and the like. Some of the ads have embedded content that attempts to gauge your browser and plugin versions in order to leverage exploits.

Far be it for me to blame ad.fly or their content providers. However, this is a widely-reported issue on other forums .
