Star Ocean: First Departure

I have another issue here, using v0.9.9.1-1089-gf7baec3 on pc, somehow it's always black screen after dialogue boxes appear.

strange thing is, if I open the setting and return to the game, the whole graphic appeared again, but it'd ended up black screen again after another box.

other than that, the sprite isn't overlapping, and the border works well (I can't walk thru the roof etc.)
