Suprisingly, there are far more expensive tablets on the market that get no where near the speed of the Shield Tablet in gaming. It's got pretty high end hardware, but it's only a bit above middle in price range. I would consider the Samsung Galaxy S5 as a high end device as well, but it's opengl performance is comparatively lacking.
