RE: [Tutorial] How to use Hamachi
This tutorial is outdated and doesn't cover everything. Please update the first post to not mislead people i think i've even lost a friend while trying to resolve his problem until i finally found the solution. Please add this to your first post.
You'll need to open these ports in order to host games on Hamachi VPN. TCP 32976 TCP 27312 TCP 12975 TCP 443 UDP 17771 Do a test yourself without DMZ and with these ports closed and see if your friends will be able to see your games hosted in Metal Slug XX on Hamachi, they won't. Of course some games don't need it (like Tekken 6) and hence why many people get confused, me included, because in a game this popular, you hosted fine however in others you can't and you assume it's the games fault but it isn't. You just didn't have these ports open. I thought to myself, it kinda defeats the purpose needing DMZ to play on Hamachi because the goal is just that, Hamachi is for people who can't or don't want to have all the ports open just to play online (coldbird.net). But then the confusion, why would i need to open these ports for Hamachi to be able to emulate port forwarding via direct tunneling? Well, turns out Hamachi needs these ports to emulate them properly. |
