You can just keep the cheat activated, it will not disable itself until you do it yourself and even if you disable it, you will have to use disable cheat or restart the game, since it's keept in memory so also inside savestates.
BTW does it store increased value in the save?Saving is something I did not tried yet.:]
Also I unlocked mp as well just now.
Edit: And I can't really reproduce your issue at least with the cheat I use now, which changed a few times since I posted it, I have 10101 hp which is max, finish the battle and try to heal - it doesn't allow healing since it's max.
