Don't you save the game normally?

I'm sorry to say but it'll be very hard to recover those "cleaned-up" save states and it might be even impossible as well.
Google "recover deleted files." That might help you.

Save state are very unreliable. After you're done playing for the day, at least save your game normally.
Better yet, don't use save states at all. Big Grin
