The ones that looks crisp are being rendered in real time, therefore the visual enhancements that PPSSPP does (e.g. increased rendering resolution/filtering etc) are applied to them. The jagged ones are pre-recorded cutscenes at the PSP's native resolution of 480x272 and are just upscaled to fit your screen when viewed, therefore they look hideous. They are treated as videos, and were made with the PSP's own smaller and lower res screen in mind; they were never meant to be viewed on FHD/UHD/bigger sized screens. The game has a mixture of 3 types of cutscenes, afaik:- 1. Realtime rendered cutscenes - Best quality since it can be uprendered to the desired Rendering Resolution and have other forms of filtering/post-processing applied to it. Synonymous to actual gameplay. 2. Prerecorded CG cutscenes - Videos made using assets that are at a fidelity beyond anything you will see in game and then downsized to 480x272. Looks decent even at higher resolutions since it has its own pre-applied AA and fantastic production values. 3. Prerecorded cutscenes using ingame assets - Worst quality since they're recorded at 480x272 and PPSSPP can't do anything about it.
