The screen stays like that when PPSSPP fails to connect to a server. Normally "adhoc" does not have a server, so it's probably just not expecting failure at that point:3.
Lots of reasons for that to happen, you should check on the server side if you're actually connecting. PPSSPP settings doesn't matter not counting server ip which obviously should be of whatever the server you're trying to connect with.
