I just tested v0.9.8-1241-gfafd371 right now. There's no black box on the sun. See the screenshot below, I made it in windowed mode so that you can see the version number on the title bar:



As I mentioned in my initial post, you need to have "Simulate Block Transfers" enabled. If there's no check on that option, you'll get black boxes on the sun. Here's a screenshot with Simulate Block Transfers disabled:



If you have Simulate Block Transfers enabled and there's still a black box on the sun, it's probably a driver issue (I'm just covering all bases here. I only have access to an nVidia card and an Intel IGP, so I can't possibly know the status on the ATI side.)

Thanks for the reply. Even with Simulate Block Transfers enabled the black box on the sun is visible. My graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 3000.
