Even though I respect your opinion, I find that whatever the forum main reason is, it doesn't mean people can't befriend. To make a lame, lame example, when somebody enroll to university, the reason is obvious, but you end up to make friends anyway (at least most of the times).
Back on topic, I chose the second option (facebook account), as I don't see any real good reason to make one.
