As the reply above your post says, press on the Turbo button, to speed things up enough to bypass that point in the intro.
Once past that slow point, save-state it, then reload whenever you wish to carry on, beyond the slow area.
Also please note: Use Non-Buffered Rendering, to clear up most of the glitches.
