Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Portable

Were you actually able to finish this game? I'm using 0.9.6.2 on Windows 8 and and am running into some difficulty. The game randomly crashes here and there, but I was able to get about two hours in before reaching a part that I apparently can't get past without crashing the game. I'm also forced to use save states, because the in game save system suddenly stopped working and kept crashing the game every time I tried to save. I tried playing around with various PPSSPP settings, running as administrator, running in compatibility mode, etc but have not had any luck.

If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.
