Control problem

Hi, i just tried te emulator and i realy love it but when i downloaded the new one i got a problem. I was realy happy that my games sounds were perfect but: I have a control pad like u have for a PS2 or 3 or Xbox, but it works with an usb port. so at the 8.1 there were no control problems but now(9.1) i've set the controls and my charachter is not moving to the left and not even to the right. What could cause the problem i've read the guide or what but i couldnt find anything like this. What could i do? Am i doing something wrong? Pls help me!
