Sound out of sync

hello all.

i just got this setup and working pretty good. i am using the latest build (300 something?) and have put in the ATRAC3+ thing which is recognized in the audio settings. however, there seem to be 2 audio problems:

1) not all audio files play. while playing Maverick Hunter X, it plays the sound effect maybe every 2nd or 3rd shot Megaman fires, and some sfx dont play at all.

2) the ones that do play, are late by as much as 2-3 seconds.

i have set everything on the lowest settings that i can figure out on my own, lowest resolution and all that. MHX is the only game i have tried thus far. any help would be great.
