Correct, this bug did occur on Jpcsp too, but it was fixed after the 2877 build (or something like that) if i'm not wrong. All macross games suffered by this bug. I wonder if it is some kind of firmware check (since as far I remember, the psp changed the save encryption different times when updating the FW), but I don't recall anything like this on my PSP, both with OFW and CFW, but I can't test it right now since I have lost my psp power supply.
