The most you can do to FMVs is filter them, perhaps with a bilinear filter, although I can deal with the slightly pixelated look.

Also, just in case you missed this request:

"I'd love a setting which lets you use the right analog stick as the d-pad, because some games such as The 3rd Birthday have the d-pad as the camera controls, so having camera controls mapped to the right analog stick would make things a lot easier. "
