RE: Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection
(05-29-2013 11:19 PM)The Phoenix Wrote: This emulators top speed is not governed by the CPU, but the Graphics card that is used in your system, it all depends on how powerful that is. Depends, what you say might be more relevant for mobile devices. Most PSP games on PPSSPP don't push the CPU quite as hard as Tekken 6 on the PC. Which I believe is due to an optimization problem in the emulator. Alongside the two God of War games. Which is why I mentioned (for me at least) it is the exception amongst the many, many games I've tested which do not even cause the CPU to break a sweat. How do I know it's CPU limited? Just running the game with the task manager and GPUz on two separate windows and watching the utilizations are enough to verify it. T6 swallows up an entire CPU core at 100% utlization, while my GPU is hardly even working (as is evidenced by the low GPU usage in GPUz). To put it in perspective, reducing or increasing the rendering resolution (GPU dependant) does nothing, switching on/off 2xSSAA (GPU killer) also does nothing to improve the performance. All symptoms of a CPU limited situation for Tekken 6. I can only speak of my observations for my own windows laptop of course. YMMV. PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |
