You should be getting much higher speeds than that. I get 50-55 FPS. What settings are you using and what are you running it on?

Well I'm seeing speed increased of about 5 FPS on version 0.7.6-153-ga9e26a9.
Unfortunately I got the same speed from your settings as I did from mine. Your settings did reduce the quality of the game though, it didn't look as crisp and tight. So try turning these things on just to quality and see how your FPS reacts too.
