[Feature request] Stream games/savedata to/from PSP or Vita? similar to ArcticBase
Recently, a 3DS plugin called ArcticBase released. It allows us to stream games and savedata from a Nintendo 2DS/3DS to a modified Citra emulator on the PC. This allows "Switch-style" gaming, with better graphics and controller support while sitting at home, but then take the portable console with your game progress to play out and about.
Would it be possible to implement something similar with PPSSPP and the PSP and PS Vita? I seem to remember PPSSPP had some UMD streaming option built-in, but I'm a little scared to use that, given the slowness of the UMD and the PSP's wireless. I was wondering whether it would be possible to auto-detect PSPs or Vitas connected via USB and load savedata from their respective paths? Due to the USB speeds, I don't know whether loading games via USB would be possible, but as savedata is usually tiny, it wouldn't be too problematic for read/write. This would allow similar Switch-style gaming with these consoles, which has been a pursuit for years with PSPdisp, the PSP AV cables and HDMI adapters, the VitaDock, but all of these have their drawbacks and none upscale the games or allow as convenient controller swapping as with PPSSPP. |
