Save State Black screen

i've been doing a Madden 09 franchise since 2015 & i use save states after i sim each game for quick saves. i just finished the final season & while looking at the standings, i wasn't able to move anything, i thought the controller stopped working, so i unplugged & replugged it in & no still nothing, so i thought the controller was still not working, so i save stated & restarted PPSSPP, but when i loaded the save state, its just a black screen & no sound plays, the preview still shows madden 09 when i made the save state but i can't do anything, i haven't saved since i started simming the final season & i REALLY don't want to restart it, so can anyone help me fix this so i can access the save state? i got a screenshot showing my issue too
