What i did was put an extra number at the end of the code, this gives mc 2400 something hp and sp (wich doesn't go down if attacked) If you want 999 but going down, just unequip the code and use an sp ability and a hp one (or get hurt)

For example: I used the code
_C0 Inf HP/SP Player [99]
_L 0x10663BF8 0x000000999
_L 0x10663BFA 0x000000999 instead of

_C0 Inf HP/SP Player [99]
_L 0x10663BF8 0x00000099
_L 0x10663BFA 0x00000099
