disable system status message

hi folks, may i check if there is an option to disable the system prompted message on screen? for example, when i toggle the speed, the screen prints: "Speed alternative" and "Speed normal". it's getting a bit annoying as i switch the game speed quite often. any advice?

i am on ubuntu 16.04 and ppsspp 1.7.x. thanks.
