Older versions work better than new ones on android

Hello. I recently switched to a motoG8 plus from a G4 where ppsspp ran fine (1.22.20) and in the g8 Yugioh Tag Force 1 and Persona 3 run really badly (15fps on tag force roaming, for instance, persona wasnt that bad) on the latest versions of the emulator. I tried other settings, going back to open-gl, no dice. Using that old version on the new phone does work, but it doesnt take up the whole screen and has a bit of stutter. Is there a fix i can use for the newer versions? or can i at least make the old 1.22.20 take up my whole screen? Thanks.

P.S Im currently on 1.4.2 and persona works fine except for some stutters of audio that drag the framerate (not sure how to fix taht) but YGXTF is still 15fps.
