Can't see directory file names

This is on the latest build, the phone is a Lenovo a5, which is a cheap but competent Chinese phone. I was able to download psp emulator gold, which doesn't have the menu issue (but has issues crashing because of the ads). Since I'm only playing one game, I switched back to PPSSPP, and the game was then available to play, I just have to navigate blindly and can't adjust settings. I have most of the functionality, since I can use save states and stuff, but would like to fix this issue
