Black screen in all games

I'm using the Google play store v1.5.4 of PPSSPP. So, whenever I accidentally click the home button or the tab button and exit out of any game, when I reopen the app, the game screen is black. The on-screen buttons and sound are still there and the game still reacts to any input. I've tested this on another phone of the same model (Moto Z Play) and it does the exact same thing. The only way to fix it is to restart the app, which can get a bit annoying if I am in the middle of a level. Has anyone seen this or knows a way to fix this?
