Question on the Ace Combat games

Hello, I'm not sure if this goes here or not...

I'm using PPSSPP Gold v1.5.4 on an Amlogic EM95X android box (specifically this one: joydi.tv), and the AC games don't fully work on anything but Unbuffered rendering (missing graphics on all other options). I've looked though the threads on both games here on the forum, but I've found no reference to them requiring this option. My question is: do they really require that option to work correctly, or is there something I'm doing wrong? I'd rather use buffered rendering like all my other games...
