The game works correctly, until you restart the game. After restarting the game I discovered that the profile is reset, making me lose all of my career progress and also all of my unlocked items such as the Desert theme for tracks, and also a significant amount of parts for both Mods (characters) and Karts, which you both don't start out with much of, only a few at most. Loading the profile again doesn't fix the issue, not even loading another person's profile.
