Whenever you break the game by messing with it's memory, restart emulation and reload from in-game saves - same thing when using bad non-working cheats, so if you used any, make sure they're disabled as well(before restarting;p).

Savestates which simplyfing are memory dumps after saving the bug once will forever be affected by it, so avoid using them.
