Either way import save in 3rd is not a transfer of progress or anything. You always create new character and having saves from 2 older games gives you some rewards which are always same, for everyone.
Read this post if you need savedata for those 2 games.

Thanks! Hope it'll work without a psp. Although, even if it doesn't, it's fine. Now that I know nothing gets really transferred anyway.
