Mac won't save files on PPSSPP v1.1.1

Hello! So I recently got PPSSPP on my Mac, running El Capitan 10.11.3. I love the emulator and I've been able to play a lot of games smoothly, which is great, but the only problem is I can't seem to save my files. Whenever I hit a save point or the gave prompts me to auto-save the emulator just freezes for a split second and then crashes. Save states, however, work perfectly fine, and I've been relying on them until now, but the game I'm playing requires you to save your cleared game data to access bonuses. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you!
